Darts
Hit the bullseye for high scores
Darts is aiming under a small amount of pressure. You choose a target, commit to the throw, and live with where the dart sticks. The board pays out unevenly on purpose: a sliver of space separates a triple from a single, and the bullseye sits alone in the middle. Each round is a run of small risk calls.
How to play
Playing Darts
- 1
Line up your aim on the number you want, then throw.
- 2
Land the dart inside a numbered bed to score that number as your base value.
- 3
Hit the thin outer ring to double a number, or the thin inner ring to triple it.
- 4
Go for the center: the ring around the bull is worth 25 and the bullseye is 50.
- 5
Watch the wires, because a dart that drifts into the next bed can cost you fifty points.
- 6
Add every throw into one round total, then see how it stacks up on the global leaderboard.
Tactics
Three ways to get better at Darts
The rings hold the points
A dart in the 20 bed is worth 20. The same dart nudged into the narrow treble band is worth 60. Points live in the rings, so aim at a band rather than at a number.
Correct with your aim
When darts keep landing high and left of your target, stop adjusting your release. Move the aim point down and right by that same gap and repeat the throw exactly. Consistent error is easy to cancel out.
Know what a miss costs
The 20 sits between 1 and 5, so a narrow miss pays almost nothing. The 19 sits between 3 and 7, and the 16 between 7 and 8. Loose grouping scores better away from the top number.
Inside Reel Games
Darts in the swipe feed
Darts is one upward swipe from whatever you were just playing, and the board arrives ready to throw instead of making you watch a progress bar. The games run on the device, so a round holds up in a dead zone, on a subway, or with the signal switched off. Scores sync when you are back online. Rounds run back to back, with no ad wedged in between.
Good for the last few minutes of a lunch break.
